Hardwick Moat Weddings Photographer

Hardwick Moat Wedding venue in Cambridgeshire is one of the more unique venues I have photographed at. Nestled in the Cambridgeshire countryside between Kimbolton and Upper Dean, the venue is not at first glance easy to see. And that's exactly why I loved it.

The Farmer’s Field Wedding Venue

Hardwick Moat Weddings sits perfectly at the top of a long country farmers' lane off the B645 in Cambridgeshire. Once you turn off the main road, you begin to head up and up a long track. Now being the wedding photographer, I was able to drive my car to the top to have my equipment close. But the guests get to experience a tractor ride from the car park area, bringing them to the top without having to don a pair of wellies.

And don’t worry if your bridal dress gets a little muddy, I’ve written a blog post all about photographing your wedding dress.

Once at the top, the first thing you see is the white marquee standing tall looking out across the rolling fields of Cambridgeshire. The venue also has the option for guests to glamp as well as camp, giving you so many options for those of your gang who have travelled far and wide to celebrate your wedding day.

Once inside the marquee, you feel the rustic charm that Hardwick Moat Weddings has to offer. The bright white walls and marquee ceiling lift the space into a lovely glowing room for the day's celebrations.

Outside the marquee, there are plenty of green spaces to set up games, drinks and cocktail hour tables for your guests to relax and take in the Cambridgeshire views that Hardwick Moat has to offer. And if you want an outdoor ceremony, Hardwick Moat offers a spectacular view to look across whilst delivering your vows and exchanging rings.

Being a wedding venue that sits at the top of a farmer's field, you will of course meet your fair share of mud. I know this is often something that brides worry about throughout a wedding day. The dress you have spent so long choosing and probably have spent a good chunk of your budget on is in danger of getting dirty. But I truly believe that a dirty wedding dress is a happy wedding dress. Photographing the wedding dress is a really important part of my photography. You can see some examples of how to photograph your wedding dress here.

A Cambridge Wedding Venue With a Difference

Hardwick Moat Weddings is a smashing wedding venue that I was so pleased to be able to photograph. With a good round of tug-of-war and the kids playing volleyball on the grass, the wedding was a day packed with fun before the guests let their hair down.

Wedding venues come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. There is something for everyone. Barn weddings are something that I have written about here.

Cambridgeshire has so many great wedding venues to choose from, but for me, Hardwick Moat Wedding Venue has something extra special. It's the opportunity to feel on top of the world, standing high above the countryside with not a sound from another road or building. You can escape the hustle of the city, and relax with acres of space surrounding you.

Rustic and Beautiful Wedding Venues

Hardwick Moat Weddings is the perfect venue for a couple who want to be away from it all. There’s so much to be said for a venue that takes you away from the busy towns and cities. A wedding is all about being comfortable and celebrating with the people closest to you. And so it’s important to have your wedding at the venue you feel suits your style and vibe. Hardwick Moat was tranquil as it sat amongst the Cambridgeshire countryside, but being remote and secluded meant every guest could let their hair down and be as over the top, loud and excited as they wanted. No one is going to complain about the noise at Hardwick Moat.

There are so many options when it comes to venues. I’ve written a blog post all about Barn Wedding Venues, bringing the country feel to the celebrations.
